Any driver competing in the racing event of
the day may protest a car in their class only.
A written and signed protest must state the area in question and be
presented within fifteen (15) minutes of the finish of the event.
The protest may include one or more of the following and must be
accompanied by the required fees in cash.
A.
ENGINE, UPPER &LOWER END DRIVE TRAIN/CLUTCH:
$250 fee required in cash. Inspection will include removal and inspection
of:
1. Carburetor and intake
manifold
2. 1 cylinder head and
valves from 1 cylinder
3. Bore and stroke
4. Visual inspection of
flywheel and clutch and camshaft
5. External engine
components (valve train, ignition, etc.)
6. Removal of engine from
chassis
7. In addition to upper end inspection, lower end protest will
include removal of one piston/rod assembly,
weight of
flywheel and clutch and possible removal of
crankshaft if origin and weight cannot be
determined
visually.
8. Removal of differential
and/or flywheel
9. Weight of flywheel and
clutch with inspection of
transmission
10. Visual inspection of chassis for possible infractions such
as altered suspension components
11.
Check of wheels and tires, or weight and biases
12. Check of suspension
components
13. Visual inspection or spot checks may be requested by
tech
advisor at any time.
B.
TEARDOWNS
Attendance at the teardown will be limited to Tech
advisors/Board of Directors, protester, driver of the protested car and up to
two of his crewmembers with site to be selected by Tech advisor/Board of
Directors.
1. All parts shall be
removed by persons connected with
protested car.
2. In the event the protested car is found illegal, all fees
will go to protester.
3. If a car is declared legal, appropriate fees will go
protested.
4. No alcohol is to be in the area of the inspection site.
C.
INFRACTIONS AND PENALTIES
1. All illegal parts will be
confiscated by BSPRA.
2. External engine (exhaust
and intake manifold, carb,
ignition, etc).
a. Penalty - 1 events point
and pay.
3. Internal engine (head,
piston)
a. Penalty - All points accumulated to date and trophy for this
event.
4. Clutch, flywheel,
transmission, drive shaft, differential
a. Penalty - 3 event points,
and pay for that night.
5. Suspension, front and
rear
a. Penalty - 1 event point
and pay.
6. Ride height and/or weight
bias.
a. Penalty - 4 lace
reduction in main event.
7. Total weight
a. Penalty - relegated to
last place in main event.
8. Tires and wheels.
a. Penalty - relegated to
last place in main event.
D.
There will be no protesting flagman or judge's decision.
Inspection of any car protested must be made locally within 24 hours.
Protested cars may be moved to the place of inspection only by authority
of officials. Car moved without
permission will be considered illegal. Decision
of legality will be made by next meeting. If
you feel that a wrong call was made, it is up to the driver to prove
differently.
E.
Driver must declare acceptance of track record or not immediately after
timing in. Track record will be
automatic tear down with no extra for gaskets. If tear down is refused, all you
have is fast time for the night. Minimum inspection will be pump cubic inch
displacement and check of carburetor.
F.
When a car is checked in at the pit gate, the Number or owner cannot be
changed during that day's event
G.
For situations that are unanticipated and hot having a specific rule
addressing it, decision will be made by a majority of board members present at
event.
