Big Sky Pro Racing Association (BSPRA) hosts the return of Outlaw Sprint Karts April 29th to the Polson Fairgrounds, an evening of flat-track fast-paced mud racing, grinding on power and speed.

The evening features the supercharged members of the Montana Flat Track Racing Association (MFTRA), competing for a $1,000 purse and hard-earned trophies. Hot laps: 4/5 p.m. Racing starts: 7 p.m. Admission: $5 per head –childen 7-years and under free. Venders welcome: flat fee of $35. Coolers $5 –no glass permitted.

The MFTRA, founded in 1996, is devoted to promoting Outlaw Kart dirt racing. President of the Missoula based organization Shawn Wells states: “We are pleased to return for our second annual at the Polson Fairgrounds.” “Our association looks forward to powering-up for an evening of clean fun for the entire family –especially when the mud starts to fly,” he said.

Outlaw Karts make for flat-track racing at its best, as competitors of many shapes and sizes slip or squeeze into mini-chassis, and ride at high speeds over a gritty track.

Outlaw Kart drivers vary in age from 5 to 60-years. They muscle gutsy Briggs and Stratton and Honda engines that range in size up to 500 c.c. –two stroke engines, in various classes The evening program includes QUAD and DIRT BIKE competitions –vehicles powered by 50 c.c. to 750 c.c. engines.

According to Tracy Burland: “Last year’s race proved a popular public track-draw, an event that filled Polson Fairgrounds seats.” Burland emphasizes: “This year we plan more interaction between our fans, the racers and their karts.” “We promise exciting, low cost, competitive racing and fun games, in the dirt, where anything can happen and usually does.”
