Minutes for meeting of September 14, 2006

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:15.  Others present were Lisa, Courtney, Butch, Wade, Tracy, Brad, Carrie and Duane.

Duane read the minutes of the last meeting.

Tracy Burland stopped by enroute to a job-related meeting to drop off the financial report.

More discussion was held on the ride-along car. There was an unofficial offer of a rolling chassis in exchange for a year’s membership. We sent word that if he is serious, to bring the offer to a meeting so the membership could discuss it and then decide.

Brad wondered if tires were for sale now that the season is over. There will be a determination on this at the next  meeting.

Banquet plans were finalized. North Crow clubhouse is the place, September 23 is the date, 5pm is the time. All members are asked to bring items for a silent auction, and a side dish.  The main course will be roast pig, Hawaiian style. Kioki, (I’m sure that is spelled wrong), from Ronan Dodge, will do it, and Tracy, Jarred and Duane will split up the cost. Tracy is checking on trophies and jackets. Duane will bring 2 Blackjack tables and Carrie will bring a Poker table.

The subject of racing Championship event without racing previously was discussed. The consensus was that a car and driver must race at least 2 events prior to the final. Final decision was withheld until the next meeting. A note explaining this will be given to all drivers at the banquet, so any input they have can be heard at that meeting.

A proposal for up to 5 races at Mission Valley Speedway will be given to Mission Valley Auto Racers. The dates that were considered were May 19, June 16, July 28, Aug 25, and Sept 8. Duane will type up such a proposal.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 27.
