  August 4, 2005 Meeting Minutes

Present: Guy Stinger, Lisa Stinger, Brad Lee, Carrie Benson, Wade Shepard, Carla Morigeau, Chuck Morigeau, Lynn Olsen, Shirley Burland, Tracy Burland, Chuck Reese

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:20
Brad gave the financial report: $3000 was paid out for the purse at the Calgary race. $1263.94 in checking, $2545 accounts receivable, $967 in tires, $1211.70 Equipment for a net worth of $5987.64. Rocky Mountain Signworks submitted a bill for the outlaw racing sign totaling $70. Lisa motioned to pay the bill. Wade seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Dan Krahn owes for 2 tires that he has gotten but has not mounted yet.

There are 6-8 tires in the van. RJ needs 2, Duane 2, Wade 1. If the guys from Washington are going to make it to the race, we will need to order more. Tracy will try to contact them. Tires are at least a week out, so need to order before then.

Race at MVS:

  • Any racers that want to race at Mission Valley Speedway, that are not members of BSPRA have to apply at least 2 weeks before the race. Don and Jerry, MVAR board members, are aware of this and can inform their racers. We will also put it on the web site. To apply for membership, they have to come to a meeting and fill out an application. To race at the first race, August 27th, the drivers must be members and pay the $100 driver/car membership, and pass tech ahead of time. They would then receive points but would not receive end of the year pay because of not racing 80% of the races. To race in September, they must still be approved at least 2 weeks ahead, pass tech and buy tires. The membership fee is waived for that night, and they would not receive points or be eligible for year end pay.
  • Have not heard whether they are also hosting the Modified Championships that night. This may affect the price at the upper gate.
  • Tickets for BSPRA sponsors: Tracy would like to buy some to give to the class sponsors. Don said that he may have some. Tracy will check as to whether we could pre-purchase them for the $5 price that they have for tickets bought before 5 p.m.
  • Danny will make banners to put on the cars to park around town the week of the race. Will have cars in Polson (Napa, Marina), Charlo, Ronan (Dairy Queen, Stageline/Car Quest), St. Ignatius.
  • Radio Ads: Dennis Anderson will put the ads on all 3 stations. $300 for 100 ads. Have sponsorship of $50 each from S&K Marina, Mr B’s Limo, Morigeau’s. Chuck Reese motioned to pay the other $150 for the ads. Lynn seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Tracy invited Dennis to come to a hot lap night and take a car out. Dennis is also bringing T-shirts to had out in the crowd that the drivers can sign. Radio ads will start Sunday 21st and will announce every driver.
  • Fred Matt was invited to be the honorary starter. If he is unable to make it we will ask Dennis.
  • Russ Burland will drive the #6 car.

The Pioneer Days Parade is Sunday if anyone can get their cars to it.

Next meeting will be Thursday August 11, 7 pm, Plum Creek
Lisa motion to adjourn at 8:10 pm
