Present: Tim Long, Lynn Olsen,
Carrie Benson, Lisa Stinger, Guy Stinger, Tracy Burland,
Brad Lee, Wade Shepard, Traci Shepard, RJ Olsen, Joe
Broom
Guy called the meeting to order at
7:15 p.m.
Brad gave the financial report: $3133.94 in checking
account; $3595 accounts receivable; $1267 tires;
$1211.70 equipment: total assets: $9207.64. Sponsors
that have paid: S&K Marina $300; Napa $250; KwaTuqNuk
$500; Lynn’s Drive In $250. Three bills: Flathead
Publishing $49.44 for sprint cart ad, Postmaster $68
for PO Box, and Tracy has bill from Danny for the cart
board. Wade motioned to pay the bills. Lisa seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
Have the $3000 in the checking for
the purse in Calgary. Brad motioned to withdraw the
purse money. Lisa seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Have not heard back from any of
the cars at Penticton, whether they are traveling to
Calgary. Chuck Minor, from Moses Lake, has contacted
Tracy about running at MVS if his car is done. Have 9
cars going to Calgary for sure, need a driver for the 6
car.
Discussion was held about the
possibility of getting a grant through tourism by
promoting the Friendship Trail. Look into this more for
next year. Tracy wants everyone to think about possibly
going to Wenatchee.
Good Old Days parade is Saturday
in St Ignatius if any cars can make it: possibly Chuck,
Wade and Tracy.
Tires: Jarred ruined 2 tires and
also wants to purchase the one available for Calgary.
Chuck also ruined one. It is stated that to be allowed
to purchase more than the allowed one tire per race,
you must show that they were ruined; which Jarred and
Chuck have done. Wade motioned to allow Jarred to buy 2
replacements and Chuck to be allowed one. Tim seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
Dan had gotten two tires and was
okayed to pay in Penticton. He didn’t make it to that
race but would like to make it to Calgary and wants to
pay after that race if ok. He hasn’t mounted them yet.
It was restated that approval is decided on a
case-by-case basis. Wade motioned to allow Dan to pay
after the Calgary race. Tim seconded. Motion passed
unanimously.
Will try and get a list together
for the border crossing with vehicles traveling and
approximate times.
Radio Ads: Dennis said that he
will give a deal on the ads. Ads will start on Sunday
after their races and continue until our race on
Saturday. The price would be $150 for 300 ads; this
price is 2 for 1 for a non-profit organization. It was
discussed that could sell ads similar to the cart ads.
Tracy will work with the radio station to come up with
an ad. It will list all of the drivers. Tracy will
record a burn-out with his road runner for sound on
ads. It was agreed that our ads need to be
distinctively different from MVS ads.
Championship night: Will not run
the August 27th race as the championship,
will wait until September race to decide.
September 17th Race:
Anyone wanting to race with BSPRA must be approved for
the one race permit and teched at least 2 weeks before
the race. They must be approved, but the membership fee
is waived for this one race. They are not allowed to
show up that night and expect to race without being
approved beforehand.
Walter will send the video camera.
Kale said that she could run one. Will need a couple of
people to hand out brochures at the front and pit
gates.
Fred Matt wants to be at the
August race. It was agreed that he will be the honorary
started for the main event.
Witte’s from Euphrata, have talked
to Tracy about traveling there 2 times next year. Chuck
Minor, Moses Lake, has many people interested and he is
building 1-2 cars.
Need to remember during after race
teching that the scales show a ¼ inch difference on the
ride height. Will either need to measure on the ground,
or RJ will try and get some ¼ inch plywood to add under
the pad.
Next meeting will be August 4th,
7 p.m. at Plum Creek.
Lisa motioned to adjourn at 8:30. Tim seconded. Meeting
adjourned. |
