Present: Lisa Stinger, Guy
Stinger, Tracy Burland, Brad Lee, Heidi Trytten,
Carrie Benson, Carl Nordberg, Shirley Burland
Guy called the meeting to order
at 7:25
Brad gave the financial report.
Remains the same: $2564 in checking account as of
March 15th with $5825 total
income.
Old Business:
A car will be taken to Rocky
Mountain Sign works to have the class sponsors put on.
Will allow Danny to place sponsors where they best fit
and then let everyone know where to place them.
Kalispell's drivers meeting is
April 17th. Representatives will go to inquire about
getting practice time. It was again suggested to have at least one practice with all the cars.
Discussion was held on having a
tech day. It had been previously discussed to have a
day at one of the sponsors parking lots. Napa was suggested
at that time. Brad said that another option would
be
at Car Quest under their covered area. Need to
set a date approximately two weeks before the
Ephrata race to give the drivers time to make
any necessary adjustments to meet the rules. Must pass
tech before leaving for the race. When the date is
set, will put an announcement on the radio and in the newspaper. Tracy suggested having give-aways that
day to encourage fans to come.
Still working on the posters and
rule book lay-out.
Discussion was continued on
raising the drivers membership to purchase scales.
Still haven't had contact
with all the drivers. Carl suggested taking the
money out of the points fund. Would have to get
documentation from every driver, signing that
money back to the organization. It was suggested
that the drivers have an option to do
either--pay the $100 now, or sign back some of the
points money. The points fund now is at $4200 which
would be $420 per driver. Scales will be about
$1025 with shipping.
Lisa motioned that we order the
scales now to get them here in time. Carl seconded the
motion. Passed unanimously.
New Business:
Carl gave information on crossing
the border into Canada. Two options of having birth
certificate and photo id or getting a passport. The passport is the preferred option.
Steps for getting a passport:
Fill out application for
passport, can get at the US Department of State
website or make clear
copies, Carl provided
one copy. If the copies are not clear the
application will be rejected.
Go to UPS office to get passport
photos.
Take
application and photos to courthouse for processing.
$85 and good for 10 years. May take 4-6 weeks to
process.
Tracy and Walter are going up to
Calgary to meet with the mayor, hang up posters and
promote the race and
the friendship trail.
Next meeting tentatively set for
Wednesday April 21, 2004 at 7:00 at Plum Creek.
Lisa called for adjournment at 8
p.m.
