Work
partys were held on April 12 and April
19 at the fairgrounds to get ready for
the Kart race of April 28. Tracy
brought a tractor and leveler and got
the race track smoothed out, and Duane
brought a trailer to haul bales to put
around the track. Wade, Traci, Guy,
Butch, Tim, and Carrie loaded and
placed them.
The
Vergeronts loaned us some steel fence
posts to use to divide the spectator
area from the pit area. Lynn and Wade
brought post pounders, and the job was
done by them and Tracy, Butch, Guy,
Duane and Brad.
We met
with Rob Johnson from Hot Springs, who
has experience as a Rodeo clown and has
a moto-cross track. By trading some
help and information, he has agreed to
work his clown act into the show, and
also provide a public address system
for it. He also has some corral panels
that he will bring over next Thursday
evening for some of the divider fence.
We will still need about 250’ of snow
fence. Tracy said he can get 100 foot
rolls for $38 each. If he can’t find
any to borrow he will buy some.
Positions
at the race were assigned. They are:
Duane and Janice at the front gate,
Traci and Shirley at the cooler gate,
Wade at the north end, Brad at the
south end, Guy and Lisa at the Pit
gate, Lynn will announce, and Tracy
will meet and greet as patrons come in,
and help where-ever help is needed.
Smith
Paving will drop off the roller-packer
this week-end, so Sunday Tracy and
Duane will water and pack the track.
Another
work party will be held on the 26th
to set up PA system and finish any last
things that come up
