  April 14th, 2005 Meeting Minutes

Present: Lisa Stinger, Guy Stinger, Tracy Burland, Brad Lee, Richard Jones, Traci Jones, Shirley Burland, Carrie Benson, Chuck Morigeau, Josh Burland, RJ Olsen, Wade Shepard, Traci Shepard, Jarred Burland, Jake Paul

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Brad gave the financial report. Currently $1913.83 in checking; $4795 accounts receivable; $1211.70 Equipment- for a net worth of $7845.53. Total pre-sold racing tickets is now $525.00. Stageline and Kerr Cellular also have said that they want to buy tickets.  Brad also has $50 that needs to be deposited. The insurance has been paid.

Tracy has the contract with PFI to sign. They want the rent check before the weekend when Shawn will be building the track. Smith Paving will provide the road grater on Saturday. Shawn will start on the track at 1:00.  Anyone interested can race in the Quad and motorcycle classes. The Quads must have nerf bars and tether.  Lynn found about 200 straw and hay bales. They will give us the straw bales free, but will have to pay for any of the hay bales that are broke and unable to return. Tracy has truck to haul them with. Car Club is going to rent one booth. If everyone that has shown interest and talked with Tracy shows will have about 20 booths. Jack Cross will be there with fireworks for the main. There is some concern with the Race of Champions. The racers that Shawn has talked with want their main last, as the feature event but have concerns if something were to happen and a car got wrecked. It was told to Shawn that this race isn’t a must have, they do have other cars that are used for exhibitions but don’t think that they will have them together before the race date. It was also discussed about possibly giving the guys who put up their cars for the exhibition race extra money. This will be talked about more with Shawn and decided before the races start on Saturday. The line up will be laid out on Saturday after they see who shows up. Would like to display cars at Ace, Walmart, Super !, Don Addsen. Also have some pro-stocks at Don Addsen for the live radio broadcast.

Will decide the workers on Saturday. The Outlaws have their own wrist bands that they will use for the pit gate and that will identify people that will be allowed to camp. We will honor their bands if people walk over to the stand from the pits.

We are about $400 short for the purse at this time. We just have to write a check to the Outlaws and they do the payout among the racers.

Wade motioned to get a check for $350 to PFI for rental of the fairgrounds, a check for $2000 deposit, and if we use the lights will write a check that night. Jarred seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

The posters say Outlaw Sprint Cars instead of Carts. Tracy got a call about this. All of the articles are correct and we will refer any question on the races to Shawn, as far as different classes and what will be racing.

Letter regarding the agreement between BSPRA and MVAR was in the Leader this week. MVAR wants to know about BSPRA helping at work parties and the possibility that we would have 4 cars to run the jamboree. They were told that this year we will see how relations go and in the future will probably do more for the speedway. It was decided that if anyone wants to run at the jamboree, they will be running with MVAR super stocks. Feel like it would confuse the audience if BSPRA has advertised that we have 10+ car show and only show up with 4 cars, the fans would wonder why there are two groups of cars that look the same but are running two different races. Plus, May 7th is also our tech day. Chuck Morigeau and Dan are already planning on running with their supers, and possibly others.

Dan may tech at Wades if that night works better for him, and also Shawn Blixt if he decides to join BSPRA.

Duane said that it was okay to use their car for the pace car. He can’t assure that he will be at every race, but would like to be and would allow someone else to drive it. Still need to check with Kirk regarding lights. Kirk may do the pit boss but also can’t commit to being at every race. Lisa said that Tim would do it if needed.

After Swap meet we will order tires. Need about $3000 to get the tires that are needed for the year.

Next meeting will be Thursday, April 21st, 7 pm Plum Creek.
Josh motioned for adjournment at 7:50 pm. Lisa seconded. Meeting adjourned.
