Present: Shirley Burland, Lisa
Stinger, Tracy Burland, Guy Stinger, Brad Lee, Josh
Burland, Carrie Benson
Guy called the meeting to order
at 7:15.
Minutes were read and approved.
Brad gave the financial statement.
Checking account balance is 2564.50. A bank service
charge of 10.50 was paid. Deposits of $500 from S
& K Electronic, and $25 membership.
Accounts receivable total $3000
from sponsors. New sponsors (signed) are Kwa Taq Nuk
Resort-$500 and Polson Country Club-$500.
Tracy talked again with Nickel
Cars and they have decided not to sponsor. Ronan Power
Products, Ronan Radio Shack, A&W, and Grogan
Funeral Home have shown interest in sponsorship but
need to be contacted again. Tracy will try and get definite
answers before the next meeting.
Both tracks, Ephrata and Canada,
have stated that they have camping available. Either
at the track or near by.
Dick Burland is interested in
joining BSPRA and would like an application. He would
make a total of 9 cars.
Need a volunteer to work on the
poster and rulebook layout. Lisa said that she would
be able to print off the rules and will work on that
and trying to get a front page design.
Increasing the driver membership
was again discussed as a method of having money to
purchase scales. Not all of the drivers have been
contacted and will be asked to attend the next meeting
in order to decide.
Discussion was held on doing
scheduled practices in Kalispell. Will try to attend
their drivers meeting in April to discuss with them.
Possibility of requiring at least 2 practices before
racing was discussed so that if there's a new driver,
they would at least have track time before racing.
Having a minimum lap time was also discussed to keep
the class racing close and competitive.
Would like to schedule practices as a group and
have all cars there at that time. Discussion was also
held on possibly running with the Limited Sportsman in
Kalispell; the cars are very similar with exception
of tires.
At the next meeting should know
all of the sponsors and be able to decide on location
of logos on the cars. Ask that all drivers attend this
meeting. Total sponsor now number 20.
Brad suggested doing the teching
at one of the sponsors parking lots (Napa) and make a
day out of it with promoting and let the fans see the
class and that all of the cars are legal. Possibly do
this 2 weeks prior to first race date.
Discussion was held on the
programs and posters. Gull Printing is sponsoring $500
worth of product. Want at least one poster for each
sponsor, get approximately 30 done. Save the other
sponsorship to make programs to have at the races.
Tracy paid $25 for BSPRA to
become a member of the Polson Chamber of Commerce.
Brad motioned to reimburse Tracy. Motion passed unanimously. Included with the membership is article
in the Mission Valley summer magazine. It was
suggested to also become a member of the Ronan
Chamber. Next
year, the membership will be $50--non-profit groups
get 1/2 off the first year membership.
Stef said that she would make
membership cards.
Next meeting will be at Plum
Creek, Wednesday
March 31, 2004 at 7:00. All Drivers are asked to
attend.
