  February 5th, 2004 Meeting Minutes

Present: Brad Lee, Josh Burland, Shirley Burland, Tracy Burland, Carrie Benson, Guy Stinger, Lisa Stinger

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:00.

Minutes were not available to be read. The board will review the minutes through email, make corrections if needed and approve them so that they can be posted on the web site.

Brad gave the financial statement. Bank charge of $1.50. Deposits from sponsors of $300 from Community Banks Montana, $150 Expressions of the Heart, $500 Super One and Harvest Foods. Checking account balance is now $2041.

Kalispell was to get back to Tracy via email today. He hasn’t heard from them. If they don’t email him today he will follow up.

Sponsors: We have $4,350 in cash sponsors for the end of the year points fund and $3,000 in goods sponsored at this time.  There are four sponsors, totaling $2,000,so far to go to Canada: KwaTaqNuk-$500, Polson Chamber of Commerce-$500, Polson Golf Course-$500, Nickel Cars-$500. Total sponsorship  now at $9,350.

Glacier Brewing Co. will sponsor goods.

Discussion was held on the Friendship Trail between Polson and Calgary. Walter found a Polson/Mission Valley magazine that is a free summer guide. Tracy talked of making a trip to Canada a month prior to our race there and distributing them along the way with our schedule etc. KTN would like to start the friendship trail there by having the cars on display the day before leaving. The possibility of getting special room rates for that night and then leaving from there in the morning was discussed

Expenses that BSPRA will encounter were discussed. First is the purchasing of equipment. Brad would like the membership money to go toward equipment, rather than the sponsorship money. Everyone agreed on this, but no motion was yet made. Second expense is the rule book. Gull Printing is sponsoring $500 worth of goods, to include the schedules, which may also be enough to cover the rule books. If the rule are froze for 5 years, then one rule book can be printed for that time period. Lisa moved to freeze the rule book for 5 years. Passes unanimously.

Bob Lulow told Brad that MVS has 10 or 11 American Racer inside tires that he would sell for $50. They will let the racers know if they are interested.

Before the next meeting will put an announcement in the newspaper stating that we are not associated with MVS or MVAR and inviting anyone that is interested to come to the meeting. Tracy will also get a PSA to the radio station.

Next meeting will be March 4th, 7:00 p.m., at Plum Creek.

Brad motioned for adjournment at 7:35.
