$1079.80; Accounts receivable $3595; Tires $225;
equipment $1211.70
A check was received from Chuck Reese for $100: $25
general membership and $75 car registration.
Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.
Old Business:
Swap Meet: Tracy talked with Sean, Outlaws, about a
date to meet at the fairgrounds for the layout. Sean
will let him now when their next meeting is so that can
attend and get things set. They have 4-5 cars available
for challenge races to do at the end of the night. They
also have certain cars that they allow people from the
stands sign a waiver and drive after the races are
done. So far they have about 20-25 cars. Tracy has a
meeting with Todd at Napa on Friday morning regarding
sponsorship, he will be asking if they want to do the
remainder of the purse $1500. Some members of the
Chamber and PFI are willing to help. Need to figure out
who to give out passes to that will be helping and for
support for the event. Talked about having some of the
Outlaw Carts displayed around town, and let them give
out some passes for the race. Jack Bishop, from the
Valley Cruisers, and Walter are still working on the
posters. The tentative date of March 26th
had been set at the last meeting, need to still confirm
with PFI. There is a live remote at Don Addsen in April
that may be able to have BSPRA cars and Outlaw carts
there to promote the swap meet and race. Will probably
go with Bishop Insurance as it will be cheaper.
MVAR had their meeting on the 14th.
They did not address BSPRA and the proposal for us to
race there on 2-3 Saturdays this season. We will persue
Friday nights
Tracy and Jarred presented to
Tribal Council the response letter that BSPRA received
from MVAR and our response to it asking for a sublease
on Fridays. The Council was supportive but voted to
take the sublease under advisement. They would like to
talk with MVAR’s president and hear their response and
reasonings for rejecting our proposal. Council will
give us an answer by the end of the month so that we
can complete our schedule.
Tracy has left a message with the
group from Canada that is interested in joining. If
they are serious and have a group of cars that need
inspecting, we will travel there to inspect. Brad
motioned to travel there on May 7th. Lisa
seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Location for our inspection was
discussed. Possible locations include Dairy Queen,
Napa, Super 1, Harvest Food, Creamery Mall. Everyone
felt that we should have a different location to show
support to our sponsors. It was agreed that will try
for Napa and Tracy will discuss this with them at the
meeting on Friday.
Tentative dates to race at MVS
were discussed as July 8th and August 19th
which will give at least two weeks between other races.
To have a 2 ½ to 3 hour show, possibly include a
burn-out contest, Drag races, and maybe the Bandeleros
and Modified 4’s. Would try to have the races done so
that wouldn’t have to use the lights, but if we did
would have to get an average cost per night from MVP
(similar to at PFI which is $50 to turn on the lights).
We would have to clean-up the facilities before
Saturday races. For the night, we would have to get a
clean-up truck, flags, ambulance, wrecker, security.
Josh motioned to plan on racing July 8th and
August 19th if the sublease is approved.
Chuck Morigeau seconded the motion. Discussion: Would
open the track at 6:30 for hot lapping, with racing
starting at 7:30. Need to get a flat rate for use of
the lights. Motion passed unanimously. This is still
tentative upon approval of Sublease, and if MVAR comes
back with set dates on their schedule we will consider
those. Hot lap nights were discussed but they so have
to get insurance on those nights also and you don’t
have to be a member of MVAR in order to hot lap.
Need to order tires. Currently
have 3 left from last year. The total cost last year
was around $2000. Drivers that were present told how
many tires that they would want to start the year and
will need to ask the remaining drivers. To ensure that
they arrive with plenty of time, will plan on ordering
by April.
Discussed having a pace car to
come out under yellow (no racing under yellow, go to
previously completed lap). Possibly get magnetic door
signs and flashing light for roof.
It was discussed to have a due
date for memberships in order to generate some income
before having any events and ordering tires. It was
decided that the $25 general memberships will be due by
March 15th with the $75 car registration
paid before the first race.
Glacier Brewery wants a booth at
the swap meet. We need to get a list of workers for the
swap meet; will address this at the next meeting. Will
give the workers wrist bands, Chuck Morigeau think that
he may have some.
Next meeting will be March 3rd,
7 p.m., Plum Creek.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 |
