  December 7, 2006  Meeting Minutes

Meeting, December 7, 2006

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:15.
Also present were Tracy B, Lisa, Courtney, Brad, Tracy S, Wade, Butch, Carrie and Duane.

Contract with MVAR was read. Tracy reported that a change of dates was needed. The June 9 date is their Modified week-end, so the date was changed to June 16. Duane will prepare a correction letter for both parties to sign.

Tracy reported on the WARPA meeting that was held at Skagit Casino the week-end of Nov 17-18. Many of the suggestions that were made, we were already aware of, but one idea seems to be something that we could incorporate into the Outlaw Karts races. That is using pre-sold promotional tickets. The promoter of the Skagit track did this last year with great success. Details of the procedures were spelled out, and it was unanimously agreed to do it.

Dates were discussed for the Outlaw Karts races. Using the tentative schedules of theirs and of MVAR, the dates of Saturday, April 21 and Sunday September 9 or 16 were proposed. Finalization will be made after talking with both groups. Consensus was that racing the Outlaw Karts on the same night as a MVAR event would make for competition of fans to the detriment of both, and cause animosity. Admission prices were set at $10 per person, 6 years and under free with adult admission. Coolers are $5 per each with proper ID, no glass allowed.

Wade will put together rules for the Limited Late Model Series. He has looked through both sets of rules, and said that it won’t be a problem.

It was decided to join Ronan Chamber of Commerce. We are already a member of the Polson Chamber.

The question of establishing a Rocky Mountain Hobby Stock, and a Rocky Mountain Compact Class was discussed. This was tabled to give members some time to consider it.

Next meeting date was not set, but it will probably be after New Year’s Day.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:15.
