Benson
Guy called the meeting to
order at 7:15 p.m. Minutes were read and approved.
Brad gave the financial
statement. Our balance is now $1094. Paid out of
$140 for motel at promoting meeting, and $1.65
in bank changes.
Tracy and Walter gave a
report on the promoters meeting. We have a contract
with Ephrata for June 5th. Calgary would like for
BSPRA to come there,
they do not pay-out per car, we would have to
raise our own purse.
Discussion was held on a possible date for
Calgary. Mid-August would work best.
Ace said that they would
sponsor items to raffle off for purse money. Snap On
will still do the jacket for sponsorship. Ronan State
Bank said that they will sponsor. American Racer said
that they will sell BSPRA tires for $75, and will sell
race jackets for $65. Racers would pay around $85 per
tire.
Walter discussed forming a
“friendship trail” between Polson and Calgary,
including coupon books to raise purse and get
discounts in Calgary. Walter discussed the newspapers
and media that he was able to visit with on the way
back from the promoters meeting.
Discussion was held on the
$100 membership for the racers and possibly lowering
the fee to the general fee of $25 for this first year
because of the limited race schedule for the year.
This money was intended to go toward the points fund.
Our sponsorship right now for the points fund is at
$2,000. Lisa made a motion to drop the racers
membership from $100 (this includes the car number) to
$25 for the 2004 race season. Motion passed
unanimously.
Discussion was held on
whether or not the pit men would have to buy a
membership. It was decided that they would not have to
buy a membership unless they would want to be part of
the voting and decisions within the organization.
Brad made a motion that we
offer a free night to Kalispell to promote our class.
BSPRA would run one night
for no pay, with our own officials, schedule
etc. Motion passed unanimously.
Water presented the board
with a letter to CSKT.
Corrections were made and the letter was
approved.
Discussion was held on BSPRA
officials. Judge: Carrie Benson; Tower: Heidi Trytten;
Flagman/Pit Boss: Carl Nordberg and Guy Stinger;
Announcer: Kyle Stinger; Tech: possibly by officials
for the night.
Ephrata would like to get a
portfolio on the drivers for promoting. These
portfolio’s would also be used with BSPRA programs
and promoting.
Next meeting will be January 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Plum
Creek. Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m. |
