  October 13, 2005 Meeting Minutes
Present: Lisa Stinger, Guy Stinger, Tracy Burland, Brad Lee, Wade Shepard, Traci Shepard, Lynn Olsen, Chuck Morigeau, Carrie Benson, Heidi Trytten, Shirley Burland, Duane Olsen, Jarred Burland

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Brad gave the financial report. Stageline Pizza had originally sponsored $500 but is only able to afford $400 at this time. Tracy has talked with them and told them that this was fine and brought up the possibility of having a pizza night there to support them as they sponsored us both years. Total deposit from the banquet was $681.80. Auction made $421, Pool $40, Cards $220. Should be getting the deposit check for use of the clubhouse back in the mail.

Schedule for 2006 season was discussed.

  • Race Schedule: was discussed how many races that we would want in a season. We had a 5 race season this year and everyone agreed that was a good amount, depending on how far to travel, 6 races would be the max.
  • Canada: would have added expense this year in getting passports ($80 each) Haven't heard anything from Penticton and their cars that wanted to race the full schedule with us. Lisa motioned not to travel to Canada in 2006. Chuck seconded. This was tabled and will discuss traveling there in the 2007 season to give people time to get passports.
  • Ephrata: has asked us about traveling there twice in 2006 Chuck motioned to go to Ephrata once and try to get a little later in the season for better weather Jarred seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Will ask for a date in June.
  • Kalisell: has not been receptive. Tracy has tried to make contact through email and has not heard back yet, but will try again.
  • MVS: Would like to have 2 races there again. There is a meeting with the Tribal Department of Lands on Wednesday for input on the lease there. Chuck motioned to have 2 races at MVS. Jarred seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Will ask for dates in July and August. Would also like to negotiate $125 per car.
  • Other: Tracks that were discussed included Wenatchee, Tri-City, Pocattello, and Sun Valley. Tracy will try and contact these tracks to see if they are interested. Duane asked is we should give Tracy permission to negotiate with these tracks based on the discussions tonight. Tracy said that he would come back to the club with any negotiations.
  • Sponsorship Pay: will be divided between out of town races and paid out at that time instead of waiting until the end of the year.

Laps on Mains were discussed. Duane motioned to have a minimum 40 lap main, or 3 laps per car, which ever is greater. Wade seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

It was discussed to have a registration deadline for cars. Carrie motioned that they must be registered and paid on or before the first meeting in May. Duane seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Lineups were discussed when concerning rookies. Brad motioned that all rookies to BSPRA will start in the back in the heats and the main during their rookie year. Chuck seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Wade had concern with any cars that are not in control at any time during the night, that they should be starting in the back. The officials will watch this and realign the starts accordingly. If they are out of control during a race, they will receive a mechanical flag/stop-and-go and the pit boss will talk with them.

Sprints: Tracy has been approached about hosting the NSRA Sprints in 2006. Would be allowed the July 4th weekend. Fred Matt has offered to help raise funding. This would be a large effort but would be hosting a large event for the community. Expenses would include the purse, rent of the track and insurance. Duane asked for a show of hands on who would be willing to put in the effort to see if we should continue the discussions. Most everyone would be willing to help and put in extra time to host this race. Will have to wait and see how the lease is negotiated at MVS.

WARPA meeting is November. Registration is $130 for organization and one representative, $30 for each additional person; rooms are $110 a night with needing 2 nights. Chuck motioned to send Tracy and 1-2 other people, anyone that is interested. Walter usually goes and Guy may be able to make it this year. Duane suggested that we allow $500 to help some with the gas prices also Lynn seconded Chuck's motion. Motion passed unanimously

Brad Lee and Tracy Burland paid for their 2006 membership and car registrations.

Lisa will get Thank You notes for the tracks that we raced at in 2005 season.

Will meet at Stageline on Monday at 7 p.m. for dinner.
Next meeting will be Thursday October 20, 7 pm. Plum Creek.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
