  January 8th, 2004 Meeting Minutes  

Present:  Brad Lee, Josh Burland, Lisa Stinger, Shirley Burland, Tracy Burland, Guy Stinger, Wade Shepard, Traci Shepard, Don Staggs 

Guy called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. Minutes were read and approved. 

Brad gave the financial statement. Our balance remains at $1094.   

Tracy gave an update on Calgary.  We have entered into an agreement as we discussed.  Walter came up with a Friendship Tour - holding tours between Calgary and Polson.  Calgary is renting us the track.  They will purchase our main event trophy and that’s it.  The mayor of Polson will contact the mayor of Calgary.  Randy proposed $1000, Chamber proposed to $500. Tracy will follow up on commitments.  Bill Olsen will be the ambassador.  Tracy will go back and speak to the new sales manager at the Kwa Taq Nuk.   Ace Hardware will do an auction.  Ephrata will allow us to do the same thing.  They will allow us to camp at the track.  Snap on Tools went out of business so we do not know if we have the jacket.  Jack Cross Wholesale Fireworks will sponsor $1000.  Carl Nordberg said he would help with the television coverage.  Glacier Brewery in Polson may sponsor their product.  Tracy checked on the jacket with Steve Lozar and said he would be in with the contract.  August 28, is the scheduled date.  It is 355 miles.  Ephrata is 330.   

Ephrata newspaper has contacted Walter looking for articles on us.   

You’ll need to have your social security card, birth certificate and driver’s license with the your picture on it to get in and out of Canada.   

KQ92 will put Tracy live on the radio prior to going to Calgary.  He may let us use his cell cast.   

We have not heard back from Kalispell. 

Tracy will contact Lynn Church regarding campgrounds.   

Stageline will stay on with us for $500, Dairy Queen $500, Duane Olsen $250, Mr. B’s Limo $250, Tracy’s Auto $250, Ronan State Bank $300, Gull Printing donate $500 for 250 color schedules.  Jack Cross $1000 worth of fireworks.  With goods and cash we are at $4050.  If we get the $2000 series up there then we’ll be at $4050 cash. 

The board will look over where they want to place the sponsors.  Danny Roullier made a request to be on the visor.  Ephrata will get us comp on rooms if we place their sticker on our cars.  Tracy explained that it is the individual’s sponsor’s choice.  Nickel Cars is having a meeting on Monday and will try to get us $500. 

Next meeting will be on January 22, 2004, 7:00 p.m. Plum Creek.   

Lisa motioned for adjournment at 8:20 p.m.  .
